glow plugs

Hey it's been getting cold down here in missouri around 0 and so my 89 7.3 is starting kinda hard is it ok to cycle my glow plugs twice in a row or will that burn them up?should it be starting harder at that temp it's only when the engine is cold it takes a first cranking of about 7 seconds and then fires at 2 seconds on the 2nd crank?
Thanks

Your fine doing that, shouldn't cause a problem.

That depends on alot of things. Battery condition, fuel condition, cable conditon, injectors, and of course GP's.

If you in single digit weather and you get it started in under 10 sec, your doing alright. You'll probably have more problems as you get close to -10 degrees though, but you should get it started, maybe rough though.
