i just replaced a bedside on a new ranger pickup. was gonna pull it in a little bit ago to finish putting it together. some stupid $%^&*&^%$#@#$$%%^&^%$# BACKED INTO THE BRAND NEW BEDSIDE AND LEFT WITH OUT SAYING A WORD!!!!!!!!
Ah that sucks. Been there... ok well it wasn't new, but still. It will come back to them and then they'll be all "Why is this happening to me?" And then you smile, lol.
Is it a dent that can be popped out (mine was huge but mostly poppable) or did it crumple?
Were you luck enough to be parked at the bank for a video camera. Your insurance or police could help request information, such a picture or dirt bags license number. I was burnt last year same deal. A 500.00 deductible is a bite for something you didn't do. chuck
no, it's nasty. i was down here at the shop painting it last nite till 10. was gonna deliver it to the customer tomorrow. not only will i have to eat it, i'll have to eat 2 days on a rent car. i guess thats my reward for helping out a little ole lady this morning on her w/s wipers on a grand marquis. as they say, no good deed goes unpunished.
i got a lot pushed out. a lot more than i thought it would. it looked like it was gonna be a 7 hour dent. shoulda taken a pix before. not quite as big as a basket ball when done. this panel didn't have a speck of filler in it until now. hope the shrinkage is minimal with the paint being so fresh. now to water sand and paint it in the a.m. AGAIN!!!!! sure i'd a been upset if someone told me they did it. but to have to ***** to say anything is a WHOLE other thing.
that IS aggravating. The good news is that you have the know how and ability to fix it since that what you do.
I had that happen to me when I was 18 or so and I had to live with the dent, didnt know anyone that could fix it, insurance would have skewered me if I turned it in and I had no idea how to go about fixing it myself...
i.d rather spent time on the 55. or spend the time doing other work making $. this puts the paint dept behind now. it screws up cycle time for every vehicle in the shop. customers dont care about stuff like this. just when do I get MY car back? knowledge and ability is one thing. i still lost money. my paint supplier doesnt give me anything. had to run extra heat since we are in the teens tonight. still will prolly eat some rental costs. oh well, almost done.
