OBD won't produce any codes -

Hello. My 2003 F250s check engine light came on and we to the truck to autozone and the ford dealership and the OBD wouldn't produce any signal. I submitted this to the general forum but they suggested that I find a someone that has an AE scanner. Would the Ford dealership have this or do I need to go to a diesel mechanic.

Thank you,
Andrea

The OBDII port is fused....if I remember correctly it's the same fuse the cigarrette lighter uses.

Does your cig lighter work?

That's funny you say that I don't believe that works...so if that's the case just replace the cigarette lighter fuse and we should be good to go?

Yep...Pin #16 of your OBDII DLC should have power. If not, I agree with the blown fuse.

Steve your memory is still intact,it is the same fuse as the cig lighter that if held in too long blows that fuse or once well worn shoots out and flys under the seat while red hot.I have to remember to swipe the one out of wifes truck so this stops happening to me.LOL
