What about my truck's hips that inspires people to do stupid things on the road? I had one jackass try to pass me using the shoulder. Now not only is that illegal right off the bat, but this particular shoulder is also used frequently by cyclists(which I wish they wouldn't and if they knew the bad health aspects of cycling on the road instead of using one of the million dollar bike trails around here or getting a stationary bike, they might reconsider cycling on the road) as well, so they present a danger to those. Not only do they use the shoulder, but they also use the shoulder that runs along the right side of the truck. For those that don't know, the right side is where my exhaust exits, if the person didn't know that then, they do now. There was also no right turn for a little over a mile from where they did this, so trying to get over to make a quick right wasn't the case this time.
This was just the latest, but recently something along the lines of this are happening more and more frequently and I'm willing to bet it's the hips.
This time of year (the holidays) people do some amazingly stupid stuff. There are more drivers on the road and more people in a huge hurry to get to the next stop light. The stress level is so high that everyone seems to get impatient. I just slow down a bit and let those idiots get around me so that when they cause an accident I will not be involved. I had someone pass me last weekend on a double yellow around a blind curve as I was towing the horse trailer. Luckily no one was on the other side behind the blind curve. And I was actually going faster than the posted speed limit. So I feel for you Tex.
In Maine this type of aggressive driving is frowned upon by the Constabulary and most citizens alike!! These types of "motorists" are normally charged with "being an ******* in the Daytime" a misdemeanor offence.
