I've ran both and definely a 460. cubic inch is king!! i pulled my running 429 out to install a really nice 460. the 429 was a nice 10 to 1 comp and solid cam engine with ported heads and stealth intake. ran good but didn't lug down like the 460. I've had bigger stroke motors but in factory form the 460 is a good setup. If you want more down the road you can stroke it and make some serious torque. 3.59 strk 429 and 3.85 strk 460. up to 4.5" stroke is possible and some big cubic inch if you want to spend some money. 557" isn't hard to do with the correct factory block.
