ok another dumb question. seeing as the shop manual isn't here yet and i'm impatient, what order (from left to right) are the switches/dash bezels in. mine are push button, wipers, lights, (other side of gauges) blank hole (o/d?), ignition switch, lighter and choke (used for defroster cable).
thanks again
from what i gather from google the left side is ok, but the right side is in question.
the order from left to right is this: starter button, wiper, lights, throttle, choke, ignition switch, cigar lighter. The throttle was an option that came standard on the bigger trucks. It was used to rev up your engine without keeping your foot on the accelerator. It looks like someone drilled an extra hole in your dash or put your ignition switch in the choke position and the lighter in the ignitoin position and the choke in the lighter postition.
Might I suggest with such a beautiful truck you try this: For $6 on E-bay you can buy and "Operators Manual" and it shows the position of those, an dhas tons of useful info that's not in the shop manuals!
thanks julie, going to the truck shop this weekend and i'll see what they have. trying to get everything lined up for the holidays since everyone will be closed. most likely i'll just get the harness and gauges done, but just in case i have more time i'll have something else to do.......i'm tired of running outta gas. btw has anyone used the 12v stock looking gauges that mid fifty sells or am i the guinea pig?
oh yea, the radio and the 2 lower gauges are going.........i'll find a better way for music.
