So my dad gave me his other Ford Truck 1979 Ford F250 Explorer Built 400..
Well it has been sitting and sitting and ****ting we had fuel issues, and other issues that were the primary problems
Now... I drive a 2000 Camaro SS as a Daily Driver as my pavement pounded and its getting winter, well i got the thing started idles nice but the brake lights don't work when i press the pedal, and now the turn signal and the emerg. flashers don't work either..
It looks like i don't have a fuse in a couple ports on the box 1 was emergency port and st belts, my dad says there is a port on the box for the brake lights but i don't know which one. CAN ANYONE HELP i am so close to drive the thing and have a nice winter/campin truck.
Check all the fuses first. I had similar issue a couple of years ago and after closer inspection found the contacts were corroded. I used an Xacto knife and scraped the contacts. (may want to disconnect Batt to avoid arcing). Also check the switch that should be mounted on the brake pedal up about half way. Easy to see....has a couple wires on it. The fuse block should also be labeled with abbreviations, again double check all the fuses and make sure they are good. Lastly, make sure the bulbs themselves for brake and turn signals are good and make sure the contacts aren't corroded. I know this may sound redundant, but sometimes the simple things get overlooked. Hope this helps.
Check the fuses with a electrical multi-meter tester. It is known for the glass fuses to look good, but be bad. They can break from the side, and not burn in the center like they should.
