I was told that the rims from '67-'96 are all the same bolt pattern. I HAVE seen several '73-'79 series pickups with early 90's rims, I would think that your '72 would be the same.
Blake I think most patterns are either 8 or 5 lug. Shouldn't you be able to first establish like a 5 lug pattern and then measure from center to center on the bolts to compare.

They will fit as long as they are 5 lug. I know a guy with early 90's wheels on his 70. I don't know about the 8 lug wheels though. Actually, isn't there a pic on this site somewhere of a 68-72 with the early 90's rims?
I'm sure they fit. a friend of mine has late 90's alloys from an F-150 on his 56 F-100. But you should be able to call a tire store to find out for certain.
5 lugs will work fine. They didn't change the 5 lug wheel pattern until they redesigned the trucks this last time. Also, for whatever it is worth, the Dodge truck 5 lug rims up to at least when they redesigned also work (good trivia I guess)

Check the bolt pattern spacing. F-100 and 150's use a 5 on 51/2" bolt pattern. Measure your wheels between the center of bolt hole #1 (choose one) and #3 (choose one), leaving one hole between the two you have chosen. The distance should be 51/2 inches between the center of #1 and #3. Now check your hubs to see if they match. Some of the other posters are correct also because several big Ford passenger cars, and some dodges have the same bolt pattern. Brand "x" uses a 5 on 41/2 pattern.
I hope this is clear. If you get confused, your local tire store has a plastic gauge that they will probably let you use to confirm your measurements.
Good luck
