Not too cheap but not very expensive either... A reman from ford will set you back about 10K so in that light this is a good deal.

For that price, if I were you, I would order a reman shortblock out of Vancouver B.C. Canada for 2300. Call P&R Western Star in Victoria B.C. and pay the shipping down to you.
A company in Vancouver redoes them with a 1 year warranty for 2300 Canadian.
