When I got money I like to buy Diesel Power Magazine, and when I can't I read on there website. Well I found this article about the new powerstroke, which will be made by Ford. And to me, I don't like it, its a reversed head (Exhaust side is now intake, and vice a versa) and IDK, I don't like it, I will stick to my big ol 444. But here is the article, its going to be a CR engine, using a CP 4.2 (4 injectors to 2 sides?) But it has some good pictures.
wonder what the HP and TQ Numbers are going to be???
good find! also interesting on how they have the exhaust manifolds mounted on that engine.
i hope ford made a good motor! wish they would have kept the name powerstroke though.

I believe they have kept the Power Stroke name. It was a Ford name, not a Navistar name. I also believe the HP numbers will be in the high 300's and the tq will be in the low 700's. Should run good, and it better hold together, or Ford could be in trouble with their diesel market.
We just bought a new Dodge 5500 CC just because we didn't want to mess with the 6.4 and lack of serviceability on the 6.4. Chock one loss up to ford because of their power train.

now there going to be hurting on there drivetrain, they are not putting and optional manual tranny in these beast any more. all auto's!
i dont want a pulling machine with an auto in it!

Maybe we can get enough cents, we can buy a new one, and see what it runs like lol. And yeah 2011 no more sticks in Ford and Dodge is the next year after (From my understandings) But lets see what happens. The 6.4 would be a good engine, since its compound, and it would make a great pullin truck (Only truck allowed to run compounds in street class) But IDK of any company making any upgrades for them.
I Ford is smart enough to back the new engine with the Allison trannies they may have something. I got a 37 foot motor home with the Allison behing a 8.1 chevy best combination I have had so far.
(Take this as a joke) AWWWW YOU SAID CHEVY THATS A BAD WORD!!!!!!!! Well I personally like stick, yes my truck is auto but if I had a choice it would be stick. But yeah I know ford put A Allison transmission in some 5.4 Expeditions, and they got 20% better fuel mileage, so the diesels may see a Allison. Anyways, again that info is from Diesel Power Magazine. You all should pick one up sometime, they had a Bronco the put a 7.3 in (Like from our truck, into a 94 Bronco) It looked factory, but alot of cool stuff in them if you like to read, hope to get a subscription to them for christmas.
elite is making aftermarket injectors, turbos, etc. for the 6.4's. there are already a lot of big 6.4's out there. actually there is one running low 10's in the 1/4. the turbos on a 6.4 are not compound either. they are twin sequential. do some research on that one and you may be surprised. its kinda like the 6.7's single sequential, but its actually 2 turbos.
the 6.7 will have the powerstroke name and will be 100% serviceable with the cab on unlike the 6.4. they also changed back to a spin on oil filter. LoL. i sure do wish you could get them with a 6 speed. i know you can get the 6.4's in a 6 speed.. these engines should be decent engines. i think the blocks will be stronger for aftermarket purposes than the 6.0's and 6.4's, but who knows with that compacted graphite block. glad to see they went back to using forged connecting rods as well. i think we may be surprised as to what these engines can do, but i don't think the turbo system will be any good. should see better fuel economy with them simply b/c of the new DPF and they will be using less active regen and urea as well. very strange engines
