What is it?

This part is on the main power wire off the solenoid on my 1960 F100. I have no power into the cab for accessories, heater, dome light etc. Is it some type of fuse or resistor? I checked it with a volt meter and I have 12 volts up to the part but no voltage after. I'm using the old wiring harness untill I can afford a new one.

Thats a circuit breaker. If there is a short or a component drawing too many amps it will open the circuit. This is done by the heat generated by the excessive amp draw. It is supposed to reset automatically after it cools. I would say its bad if ther is no voltage on one side.

That is a circuit breaker. It must be bad if no current ar both posts.
It should be marked with an amp rating.
Probably 30A but look and see what is on it.
They are available at any auto parts.

Thanks, that would explain the lack of power. It's so rusted It has no visible markings.
