I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator with air suspension. Last week the rear end pumped itself all the way up. While crawling around under the rear end looking for the sensor, I noticed a mechanical lever type of device near the rear right wheel that had come disconnected from another piece of metal, & the lever was in the far up position. It's hard to explain but these 2 pieces connect with what seems to be some type of ball & socket snap together connection. I moved the lever part back to its normal more downward position & snapped the other piece back on it. The rear end returned to its normal position.
A few days later, while driving, the rear end dropped all the way. Once again I got under the vehicle only to find that the lever had once again become disconnected, this time it was in the far down position. I reconnected it again & let the system pump up the vehicle to its normal position & turned off the air suspension system & it is held air ever since.
Can someone help me identify what this lever & ball socked type of device is & what it is called? I think the connector piece of it needs to be replaced.
I can not open the picture. Please re-post. The linkage to the sensor is what I think I am having problems with. Is there a replacement part for the linkage?
Thanks!
