starting issue

lately iv been taking many short trips, less then a 2 miles. after 2 days of driving less than two miles to where im goin and less than two back home my truck takes a little bit longer to start when im crankin it. and every time i start it, it takes a little longer each time and by the end of the week it takes ten seconds to start it. but if i drive 15 20 miles or so on friday night, the next mornin it will start right up no problem and then the process repeats it self the next week. what could this be?

thanks

2 miles is not enough time to re charge the batteries, your alternator doesn't even start charging for 45 seconds (iirc)after you start the engine by then you are half way to where you are going, so there is no time to charge the batteries. so by the time you cycle your glow plugs and than run you starter you have used a lot of amps and it isn't running long enough to replace them.
