302 rebuild

i pulled my 302 out of my f150 that i bought and im planing on rebuilding it beacuse the previouse owner said that the real main seal was bad and that its been sitting for about 2 years.

so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what else i should do with it(and im on a very tight buget) and were i can get the best and cheapest gasket sets.

im also looking for designs for a flat bed if anyone has any or knows were you can get some. The motor is a 78 and the truck is an 82.

IMHO,

Don't go with the cheapest gasket sets- payback down the road is a $^**^%%^!!!
I would recommend Felpro- moderately priced and very good quality.

In additiona to headers, you can likely get the cam re-ground for less than $100 with a profile that is better within the oem rpm range- most of the major cam grinders offers this service (ex. Crower, Iskenderian, etc.) there are also independent machine shops that will do this also (ex. precision Crankshaft Grinding Service, LA. CA).

Then just a good rebuild (heads, rings, etc.) and you should have a very nice running truck.
