Hopefully it didn't drain it all out I would start with a couple quarts and check it until full.
Then don't let bro drive it anymore if he's pulling tranny lines off. lol
lol that may not be what he is working on though. The reason I said to start with 2 quarts is I hope he didn't drain all the oil and it is easier to put it in than take it out.
We are going to service ours on our newfound junker this weekend. If the literature I have found online is correct, it says 12 quarts.
Only thing I don't know though being new to these trucks and not having a manual yet, is our 85 has a aux tranny cooler on the front of the radiator/ac unit.
So how much if any does one of those add to the fluid needed?
well yeah i asked about the trans because i have a 1989 F350 Chassis, 1994 F150 extracab body, C6 trans etc etc etc. There can be no assumptions anymore! Not after my truck. Just ask dave s and the other fellas when they were helping me with my GP system. They were telling me yellow wires and black wires when i was seeing purples and greens and black etc. hahaha
i belive i have a front tranny cooler that runes to my radiotor. becuz that the line that came off so i was told, after towning his *** home but the only realy thing im hoping is he didnt mess up my torque converter cuz from my knowlage u need to run oil thru them to keep em working. correct?
The tranny should have started slipping at just a couple quarts low and storred pulling at about 4 quarts so it should not be completely empty unless it was left running trying to go, in which case damage would occur.
