The Love has returned!
Hard starts, ect. After installing a new injection pump it ran better.
I broke the old one by not putting the spacers on the top bolts when changing the water pump
Learned my lesson there. Also did the return lines and caps at this time.Soon after changing the injection pump, the lift pump developed a fuel leak so I replaced that. While I was under the hood, I replaced the battery cables with a premade harness from the auto parts store and changed out the glow plugs.
Now, the truck starts wonderfully! I let the glow plugs cycle once and turn the key. Fires right up like a brand new truck!
I bought this truck for 3300 dollars including tax, title and license when I was a Junior in High School and have been driving it ever since.
After fixing these issues, I fell in love with the truck all over again. When I drive it, I feel just like I did the day I bought it. The thoughts of purchasing a new truck have totally left my mind. I'm going to keep driving this one as long as I possibly can. With only 165K on the odometer, I foresee that being a very long time.
I don't post much here, but the answers to my questions have all been found in searching. Thanks for the help!
