All the functionality of a Blackberry, yet it's no bigger then then phone I had before, Motorola Krzr.
Love it, never will go back to a regular cell phone again.
I went to two phones - one is my basic work phone and it gets treated rough.
My BB is my personal phone number thats not as well known
I dont think any BB would take the dirt and dust like my work phone does - but I always carry my phone when working, just in case. A neighbor was pinned under his cultovator and his phone saved his life!
I looked at that Pearl flip at Agribition - I liked its size.
I'm quite surprised with what my Pearl Flip has been through already.
I work as a ag machinery tech for our local John Deere dealership and my phone is my lifeline back to the shop when I'm out on service calls. There's been a time or two when my phone has had a very rough landing. Still holding up though.
Only issue I've had is with the 'pearl'. Every so often grit gets under the trackball and makes it so it doesn't turn. A little bit of working it back and forth and all is good though.
On another note, I'd have to agree with some of the other posters. I love my laptop. It's a Dell XPS 15.1" screen so it's actually faster then my desktop. Love the portability of being able to surf the 'net anywhere in the house instead of being stuck to my computer chair.
Ill have to check those bb pearls out. My samsung phone takes a pretty good beating, and still keeps working, but it would be nice to have more features on it.
I've had a BB ever since they first came out, a Curve. I love it. The ball doesget sstuck once in a while, but you can gently pry the silver ring off , pop out the ball and use a can of compressed air to clean out any dust/dirt, like you would on your computer. Also a Q-tip with a little rubbing alcohol is great for cleaning off the roller ball.
I use a laptop, will never go back to a desktop. Morris, you can get laptops with larger keyboards, some of them are even bigger than a reg. desk top system.
We got my Mom and Dad a laptop last year, like you said Sheldon, very cheap. We have a desktop for farm business stuff, paperwork, inventory, field records etc. Its not even connected to the www - the laptop is for them to play with using a wireless internet connection. They took some classes and are getting along quite well!!!
Thats pretty much what we were doing too, desktop for the office, hooked it up to the laser printer, fax machine, all that jazz, then laptops for the net. I actually have training in networking and I just network them all to the net, that way if you need to look something up on any computer here, you can.
Yeah you probably dont need an upgrade for what you do. If you play games and stuff like that then its worth it to bump up the specs every now and then.
I mean the newer and faster they are the better, but a guy can get away with older stuff still.
Older stuff is easy to find, just no one really wants it anymore! I mean you can pick up a new desktop system for 3-500 bucks, and it will be much faster then MOST computers of 3 or 4 years ago.
