Replacing ball joints 90 Explorer
I was going to change the ball joints in my truck, 4.0,4x4,V6,etc. The drivers side is a one piece control arm. The passenger side is a split upper and lower. The metal looks good, the bushings and ball joints are wrecked. When I read Haynes manual for the truck it stated that if the ball joints need replacing then you have to change the entire control arm. They look like they would come off with a puller and if I am not mistaken the bushings are changeable. Are they correct? Should I change the ball joints and bushings anyway? I already bought the control arm for the driverside. If I can't change just the joints and bushings and have to buy the passenger side arms then so be it. I'm looking for advice from the those experienced in the matter and any tips to shorten the time to do the job.
