distributor clamp?

distributor clamp?
so today when loosening my distributer clamp i accidently took it all the way off. Now im having a heck of a time getting it back on. are there any tips on how to get it back on? Or do i even need it? my distributer is seriously stuck so i dont think itl move or will it? If it helps i have a 400 with CA emmisions.

Ya I would keep it in there if I were you. I had the same issue not too long ago. I used an extendable magnet to put the clamp in place, then I used a screw driver to remove the clamp from the magnet. I then used the magnet again to put the bolt in place and got it started by my fingers. Good Luck! I lost 1 and a half hours on that untull I got the magnet and distributor wrench.
. but my biggest problem is that my hands are about 4.5 to 5 in wide and like 9 in long so i cant get into tight spaces very well.
