DI's pre-pump kit. Replacement inline filter?

Diesel Innovations is having a sale on their pre-pump kit so I bought one...two actually.

It's different than the ITP kit I have on my Excursion and I was wondering what inline fuel filters you guys are using, whether you have a DIY kit or DI's kit.

Oh yeah, I bought two because the kit was only $25 bucks, but shipping was gonna be $12.50 for one!! But if I bought two, shipping was free!! So I figured I'd just sell one eventually and split the shipping cost with someone, knowing it would probably fit in one of those USPS flat rate boxes and it would be a helluva lot cheaper than $12.50!

So, what filters are you guys using?

I just used what came with the DI kit, it's a Baldwin filter. I don't remember the number on it though. I have since gone to the Baldwin that comes with the ITP kit.

Baldwin filters are good filters, friend of mine uses a cat filter on his, kinda pricey as filters go, but im a operator and stop in at local cat dealer a lot to get filters, usually pick him up one when i go there, take your base in and they should be able to match up a filter for ya, even a napa should be able to do it also but i dont like napa fuel filters, they usually never work good on our dozers and trackhoe's, just my .02.....

I too like Baldwin and only use them on my ITP kit. I didn't realize DI uses a Baldwin filter. I didn't realize Baldwin made inline filters.

DieselE, there is no base, like ITP's setup. It's an inline filter.

I think the Napa number is 3007. I upgraded to a Napa number 24770 filter base and 33405 14 micron spin-on filter.

You can see the set up here...

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ech-day-3.html

All and all I liked the DI kit. However I paid $60 shipped and I felt that was a lot for what I could pick up at lowes/O'reilly's for around $20

Stewart.. any reason you didn't grab the RR kit from him???

I thought that a full crimped RR fuel system for $350 was a smokin' deal. I couldn't build one for that price

Edit: any idea on how long he is having that sale? I might scrouge the $$$ together.. I was told it was Black Friday only...

Money.

I have two kits coming. If either of you guys wants the second kit, the cost is only $25 bucks and I'll split the shipping with you.

I only bought two to save on shipping. Anything $50 bucks and over and you get free shipping. Otherwise it was gonna be $12.50 to my door for one kit.

I figure splitting the cost of a USPS flat rate box would be a heckuva lot cheaper than the $12.50.

Grab some extra hose. I think the kit is worthless if you don't run hose up the the tank and double clamp it to keep air coming in through the factory fuel fittings..

Just an opinion of course

I looked on DI's website and it says $35. Is the sale over?

I'm running a DIY version but using the same Baldwin filter that DI uses in their kit.

Agreed. I did the same thing. I didn't even fool with those little pieces of hose included in the kit, just ran a new piece of hose from the tank to the pump.
