Diesel Innovations is having a sale on their pre-pump kit so I bought one...two actually.
It's different than the ITP kit I have on my Excursion and I was wondering what inline fuel filters you guys are using, whether you have a DIY kit or DI's kit.
Oh yeah, I bought two because the kit was only $25 bucks, but shipping was gonna be $12.50 for one!! But if I bought two, shipping was free!! So I figured I'd just sell one eventually and split the shipping cost with someone, knowing it would probably fit in one of those USPS flat rate boxes and it would be a helluva lot cheaper than $12.50!
I just used what came with the DI kit, it's a Baldwin filter. I don't remember the number on it though. I have since gone to the Baldwin that comes with the ITP kit.
Baldwin filters are good filters, friend of mine uses a cat filter on his, kinda pricey as filters go, but im a operator and stop in at local cat dealer a lot to get filters, usually pick him up one when i go there, take your base in and they should be able to match up a filter for ya, even a napa should be able to do it also but i dont like napa fuel filters, they usually never work good on our dozers and trackhoe's, just my .02.....
Grab some extra hose. I think the kit is worthless if you don't run hose up the the tank and double clamp it to keep air coming in through the factory fuel fittings..

Just an opinion of course
Agreed. I did the same thing. I didn't even fool with those little pieces of hose included in the kit, just ran a new piece of hose from the tank to the pump.
