the previous owner did not take care of it- the air filter assembly has leaves and dirt inside of it under the filter, is not even on right, and the crankcase breather filter is choked full of dirt,
taking apart the Assembly i see a thin layer of dirt and dust coating the inside of the whole thing- all the way down the line as far as i can see
I want to clean it all out, i've only dealt with Carberated engines-
How far do i have to dissemble the air filter assembly before i get to another filter? is there another filter mechanism closer to the engine or is all that dirt going straight into the spark chamber? clogging the spark chamber?
Hey There, Hope you have gotten your van running. I do not think there is anything after your air filter. You will need to clean out box and make sure Maf Sensor is clean. Probably a good idea to take off the Throttle body and clean it with ThrottleBodySpray. Make sure it is made for cleaning Throttle Bodies the other cleaners will do damage. My be a good time to change TPS sensor since your in there. ThrottlePositionsSensor. Cheap and better now than later. If it is running then I would not be to concerned with leaves getting to spark chamber. Just get it running , use good gas for first tank and then change spark plugs. Good luck to you. I noticed no one gave you any responses. Shame on the other members ! Hope you have fun with your new old van Remeber restore em don't crush em. Peace !
