I just picked up a '96 ranger extended cab STX. It has the 4.0 and auto tranny. truck is cherry, except for one thing. when I bought it, it seemed like it was going slow. according to my gps, when speedo says 60, I'm actually only doing about 55-56. it has 235's on it. the sticker in the door jam lists 265's. how can I recalibrate my speedometer to read correctly?? Is there a plastic gear at the end of the speedo cable, or is it a computer thing?? If it is the gear, how hard of a job is it to replace?? Also, how do I know which one to buy?? thanks guys!!
