Strange Brake noises

Ok, so i was driving and I came to a red light. I push in the brake to stop, and there's a nasty sound coming from the engine bay. It sounds like a wrrrrrrrrrr, if that makes sense haha. It gets louder and nastier the more I push in the brake, and it has also started doing it when I started turning the wheel while I was stationary. I read somewhere on here yesterday that it could be a vacuum tube that has a hole in it, but I can't find that link anywhere today. I'd like to go check that tomorrow when its less wet out, and that link or your direction would give me an idea of what I'm checking. Also, I read that it could be low power steering fluid, and I'll check that too.

Any ideas what else it could be? Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help.

Steering pump

Low TRANSMISSION FLUID in the power steering pump sounds correct, be sure to use tranny fluid, not power steering fluid. I will find a link to the procedure for changing that shortly and post it, its quite an easy process. Switching to mobil 1 synthetic tranny fluid silenced my pump.
