Hey Jr. what are you guys talking about? Is that a thing to convert 12 volt D.C. to 110 volt A.C.? That sounds cool. Also sounds like a lot of work. Did you have to put in a second battery, what about the alt., etc.? As you have probably guessed by reading this I know nothing about electrical.
Yep thats what we are talking about not too much work to put em in. I have a diesel so it has 2 battery and as for the alt. Mine puts out 160 amps so it keeps up with the drain on the battery. I dont know how jr put his in.

Sounds cool. That lets you run stuff off the truck battery then? If you have 2 already, one runs all that stuff & lights, etc. while the other one is just for starting the truck right? Do you have to leave the truck running while you're using it?

I hooked mine to the single battery that was in the van and went for it
not a minutes problem yet -has never even went into low battery shut off yet

Cool I put in a piece of sanded plywood to be able to mount things to it so far i got a magcharger and the inverter next will be a switched 12v 4 cigarette lighter system

most times on those they switch when the one battery gets too low to start the truck automatically -well on the ones I have seen did

Yea it lets me run anything that has a 110v plug. Nope both batterys run the inverter and the truck

makes life so much easier I'm getting too old to work hard~ now I try to work smart
I dont really worry about the batterys any way they both combined have 2000 cca. I was running a 700 watt halogen lamp and my sawzalls for a few hours.

How much hassle to put it in? How much will it handle? Small stuff like drill, saw, etc.? Or will it do a compressor or anything bigger?
