The production 351w block is stronger than a 302 block so it's actually a much better basis for a stroker. Do a web search for 351 stroker kits.. they're available in sizes up to 427 cu in and bigger with a racing block.

Lightbulb 302's...

...NOTHIN' wrong with strokin' a 302...they are lighter and overall
dimentions are smaller enabling fitment in to a wider aray of engine
compartments...

So don't downplay the "little brother" motor too fast...

A 331 or a 347 stroker is still capable of 500+ streetable ponies...

Lightweight stroker crank & rods...forged pistons......

Good set of heads...you get the idea...

Just my $0.02

You could get a dart block with a 4.125 bore for a 302 then stroke it to a 363.

I would recommend speaking with Hank the Crank (HTC) in SoCal. Tehy have been building strokers since the 50's and have forgotten more than most will ever know!

nothing wrong with stroking either. just need to keep the rpm down on a production block to keep it together.
