A/C Control Question
Hi, I just got a 89 f250 with A/C. Im putting a carbourated engine in it and a mechanical shift transmission. Im also swapping the the interior/ front clip and box to the next style older. So, my question is, what controls the a/c compressor clutch, is it the engine computer? If not ill swap harnesses too. Matt

Not computer controlled. It's a very simple circuit. The heater control on the dash, a cycling switch and the compressor clutch.
There is a couple wires that go to the PCM, but that's just to bump the idle when the AC kicks on. You might need to add an Idle solenoid to the carb to bump the idle up slightly then the AC engages.
