A chip for one of these trucks is not going to add any power, they are a waste of money. Unlike the newer trucks, these trucks with their more primitive computer controls do not benefit from chips. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but to get that 20-30 hp, you are going to get your hands dirty. Look for a set of headers and a good free-flowing exhaust system, that should give you the power you are looking for.
Chips for these trucks are a COMPLETE waste of money. They advance the timing beyond the usable range then ping constantly.
For free HP cut the venturies out of your intake tubes. It will give more than a chip and it is free
Please, If these guys have not dissuaded you from buying a BS chip, take the money for the chip, drop it in the toilet and flush. You will have gotten the same result.
Utter BS, never spend money on these chips.
Sorry, real HP comes from exhaust, cam, heads,........... there is no free lunch.

Right were the tubes come from your air filter towards your throttle body, there is a plastic piece the tubes connect to. Take the tubes off each side if the plastic piece. You will see"horns" that the tubes slide over. Cut them off, just leave enough of a lip to put the tubes back on and clamp tight
Prob make it quieter for all the soccer moms on their cell phone
Thats exactly what it was for, to quiet the intake noise during hard acceleration........Ford engineers must have thought we preferred quiet over a couple more HP............WRONG!
As it has been said many many times, buying a chip for this is pretty useles. You can instead put the money for a chip into exhaust. Buy some headers. Get a new exhaust system and maybe upgrade your intake. That should add some HP.
Another thing you can do is upgrade your coil/spark plugs/plug wires. I heard the E3 diamond fire plugs add anywhere from 3-7 horsepower lol. But for $7 a plug, i'm not going to find that out for myself!

No kidding! I've seen some interesting things on the E3s, but nothing that has convinced me to shell out that kind of money.
