so one day my whole ignition system decided not to work. i replaced the starter, mine was way old anyway. replaced the starter relay, ignition switch and found that the ignition acuator was busted fixed that to, now everything works, but when i go to turn the starter there was nothing. not even clicking or a drain in amps from the battery guage. its like the ignition switch isnt passing on the message to start. lost on this one.
no radio at all, that stopped working as well. and it doesnt matter if my clutch is in or out. cause i can start it from the fender just fine and dont need anyone to hold in the clutch.
Good chance your ignition is not turning all the way on it is on top of the steering column about a foot below the key switch.
If it cranks when you jump the relay it is obviously getting power at least to the fuel.
i just was down there and replaced the ignition switch. i may have screwed that up, i had the switch one click from the top ( if your looking at it from the cab) and the ignition was on lock. is that correct?
I am not sure but when my key switch messed up on one of mine I was able to stick a finger in above the switch and start it by pushing on the rod, it got me home. you might try that and see.
branden, look for the yellow wire circled with yellow on your passenger side inner fender.
If the grey connector looks melted, splice the wire around the connector.
Also if you look under the dash you will see a switch on the clutch linkage that has a blue wire with red stripe going in an out of the connector.
That is the clutch interlock switch which may be out of adjustment or bad.
There is another wire color going in and out of the clutch switch which I can not remember the color of, that would be the wiring for cruise control.
