One side note. I didn't notice if you're turboed yet, but while the engine is out is the best time to modify the pinch weld lip that will interfere with the down/up pipes for a turbo system. When the engine is out of there you'll understand more of what I'm saying. You just need to bend it up flat against the floor or firewall primarily on the center & towards the passenger side.

I dont have a turbo so that wont be a problem. Iv been somewhat talked into swapping the engine and trans recently. How much more work is involved- i would also have to remount the clutch pedal and clutch assebely or any extra brackets. Has anybody done this? Thanks for the info Im 17 and wana get the info before I start pulling everything out.

What I meant about the turbo is if you ever planning on getting one, modify the firewall pinchweld while the engine is out.

Personally if your deffinitely pulling the trans too, I would pull the trans first. I wouldn't pull both the same time, your gonna have more than enough weight to handle with the motor alone, nevermind a trans too.

Lots of members have swapped auto to manual, or the other way around.

Since you have a donor truck, you have all the parts, so you are already most of the way there.
