Mufflers

Does anyone know of a good straight pipe muffler for our trucks? I don't want to do a full exhaust on my truck, but I would like to install a less restrictive muffler.

I took a look at mine. Looks to me to as the best option here is going to be to just cut it off and add 3.5 stright pipe were the muffler was.

Can someone tell me if the 06' downpipe from the turbo has any restrictions? I am thinking of straight piping my muffler as well but wonder if I should also replace the stock downpipe?

Straight pipe that hog. I have straight pipe from the turbo to the tip......3.5'' DP to 4'' all the way back.... I love the sound. Its not loud under normal driving, but romp on it and it sounds like a dump truck lol

What's the best way to do this? Get a 3.5 piece of stainless steel pipe and start cutting and welding?

Would there be any chance of failing an emisions test because of a muffler delete? I can't think of any reason as to why. Does anyone have any experiance with this?

Not by removing the muffler, but now removing the cat is another story

I didn't think there should be any issues with removing the muffler other than annoying the neighbors.

It won't annoy any neighbors, it will however make you wonder why there was even a muffler on it. Mine has dual straight pipes after the cat and it's quite... too quite.

Would you get in trouble? Doubtful....Could you get in trouble? SURE its a federal offense. Thats a federal mandated thing that has nothing to do with state.
