I have a '96 F-250 that I bought new and I found a '99 innercooler from a F-450. I know people are putting IC's from trucks as new as '02 in these older trucks but not sure if I can use a F-450 for a swap. I wish to retain the stock grill. Anyone been here before?

well 540 welcome to FTE if you haven't been already. As far as the IC fitting. That I don't know but go with the theory that I use and it seems to work for me. "What could go wrong?" Get ya some pipes, some angles and some boots and go to town. Read some of the articles on the IC swaps from the 6.0s and the 7.3s. If the IC from the 450 is somewhere around the size of the radiator you should be able to make it fit. All you need is a little fabbing skills and you should be good to go. The other idea I gots is measure the 450s IC then get the measurements of the 6.0s and 7.3s. Go from there. GOOD LUCK!
Well I'm still a new member but I have posted a couple times and have really got some help off this site as well as PS Nation and Diesel Garage too. (IDM mod) Thanks for the tips, I will try to get some measurements and see where it leads me. On another topic ( I guess I can research it here) what type of performance do you get when you shim the fuel pump/regulator ?
You will get your fuel pressure back up to 65-70ish where is should be. You also should clean the screen out between the fuel bowl and the FPR (fuel pressure regulator). There are I believe three bolts that hold the two together and some fuel lines to get out of the way and you can get to it. Don't lose it. Clean with some qtips, I use SEAFOAM cleaner and get good results. After you clean that and shim the REGULATOR pour a can of the seafoam in at least one of your tanks if not both and it will clean the crud out of the injectors and off every thing else. The shimming mod is easy.
