good morning and thanks to those answering my steering problems questions of the past few days. i have been researching this problem and it is exactly the problem EXv10 has described in his threads from a while back, steering wheel for no reason flops back and forth , back and forth, eradicatlly at no particualar time and not necessary to hit a bump. it is generally when it is cold and comes and goes, as if it had its own will. its a 2007 F350 4X4 with a 6.0 diesel. i have replaced any of the worn front end parts, in an effort to corect this, normally i would have let them go a while more, as the wear , i did not consider excessive. at any rate, i am prepared to use a synthetic ATF , in fact mobil 1, in the pump, i was advised to just use a turkey baster and pull out as much as i can and fill it back with new. is this an adequete method or should i consider another way to drain it? i also will inspect the front u joints and grease them to see if this might be a source of the problem. i will replace the dampener if need be, but cant really see that that could cause the problem. i am hoping that it isnt the spool valve in the box, but that actually makes the most sense to me at the moment. does anyone remember if EXv10 ever figured this problem out? and if so what the solution was?
