hi all, i've got an 05 ranger 3.0 auto that has a check engine light on. when i plug my obd2 in i have nothing. no connection, no info or anything. as if there's no power. plugged the scanner in my nissan and worked good, so i know i'ts not the scanner. is there a fuse that powers the obd plug? thanks, dave.

See if your cigarette lighter works. On some Fords the OBD test port is wired to the same fuse.

Does the '05 have a CANBUS? If so, your scanner will need to be compatible with it.
