Is there a way to decipher the carb flange (engineering) numbers? I am looking at a carb on Ebay that only has a flange number (7T7VA9). I searched the carb forum with no luck thought I would try here.
Thanks
Kevin

There is nothing in the parts catalogs that decoded numbers on carb bodies.
The parts catalogs only decode the carb tag's ID number.
The triangular shaped carb ID tag was bolted to the airhorn.
Do not be surprised if it's missing, as people removed it when rebuilding the carb, didn't remember to re-install it.
This is not so much of a problemo thru 1974, but after 1974...
There's a whole mess of different carbs: With/without CA emissions / With/without Hi-Altitude / Before/from a certain serial number.
Thanks numberdummy, so this means that people who list these carbs on Ebay /Craigslist by the flange numbers are realy not helping the buyers out. I guess that was not one of Fords better ideas putting all the important info on a removable tag, alot like the rear axle tags. They work great if people would put them back.
Thanks again
Kevin
