Did ford ever have a crew cab explorer? I would love to see an old ford brochure for the crew cabs if anyone has one.

I have a two-tone 1978 F-100 -- has the light jade green main color, and medium-green side panels and interior. The light jade is very rare because they didn't sell well -- thanks to that, I bought it brand new in May 1978 at a huge discount. There are 2 or 3 others around here (SoCal) in the same color scheme, and it's really funny when we pass one another on the road -- both heads hanging out the window, staring in disbelief.

Go to any Ford dealer and ask for "puke green" touchup paint, and they'll know what you mean.

Nice thing about that paint, tho, it may be ugly, but it's durn durable. Apparently it's not paint, it's a true baked enamel, and it doesn't chip or scratch (and the metal under it doesn't rust, either). Mine doesn't even have scrape marks where a drunk hit the truck hard enough to cave in the side panel.

I love my truck, even if it is hard on the eyes.

I had a mustard yellow 1975 supercab explorer. Unfortunately I had to sell it when I moved, didn't have the room for it. Previous owners called it Colonel Mustard the Explorer. My wife called it Chum because everytime I would go take it for a drive I would tell her I was just going for a chum.

Here are some pics of the ol girl:

I couldn't find any '76 year Jade Green Explorer Brochures...
Here is some '78 Brochures. Keep in mind every year the Explorers were different, since they were a seasonal package...
(Ask for bigger copies, I can provide)

I was wondering if you could get a pic of the top of the hood on your explorer. I'm trying to find out if I can get a graphics shop to reproduce the stripes on the side and top of the hood but I've never seen a full photo of what one looks like. Thanks for the help in advance. Just email me

There is not a company that reproduces dark "jade" or green interior parts, example: dash pad, door panels, floor mats, etc. You can get repro seat vinyl in dark jade.

My truck aint an explorer, but it's green.
