Limited slip friction modifier in power steering pump to make it quiet??

Anyone ever hear about using a small amount of limited slip differential friction modifier in power steering fluid to make the power steering pump more quiet??

Has anyone on this forum tried doing this?? If so-what were the results??

What kinda fluid do you have in the pump now?

Power steering fluid or trans fluid?

If its full of power steering fluid drain it out, pull the return line off and let it pump it all out. Then fill it with tranny fluid, try it once you just might be pleasantly surprised by the result.

I presently have Ford Type F auto transmission fluid in the steering pump now. But several Ford mechanics suggested the limited slip differential friction modifier. Just two oz. They said that it will make the C11 pump more quiet.

I don't know about that lucas stuff.

I saw a test done with it in engine oil and it foamed up.

Ford used to offer the following. I would assume something similar was/is available from autoparts stores.

C2RZ19C548A .. P/S Pump Lubricant & Sealer / Obsolete

FREEMAN FORD in Liberty NC has ONE = 336-622-4256.

FANNIN L/M in Ashland KY has TWO = 800-926-6143.

it is for power steering pump, not the engine.

it has saved 3 leaking racks and 4 noisy pumps.

i like the lucas trans fluid also.

never tried lucas oil additive so i have no knowledge of it.
