Does’nt do it if I accelerate slower, idles fine, runs fine during normal acceleration . any suggestions

 

check yout timing and your timing advance system in the dist... your timing could be fine at idle, but advances too much when you get on it..

 

You do not have a timing advance system in the distributor. It sounds like you are going lean when doing high accelerating.
Maybe a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. Put a fuel pressure gauge on the windshield and see if you are maintaining fuel pressure of 40-42 psi while accelerating.

This would also be a good time to see if you have any codes in CM of the computer. They may tell you what is wrong and we will not have to guess.
