This is my 4th OBS ford. Just picked up a 94 f-150 ext cab shrt box 5.0 auto. I'm having a shuddering issue only when decelerating form around 35-40 MPH. If I give it gas it will go away. Wondering if it's a bad Torque converter? U-joints seem fine.
Also my oil pressure gauge is strange, Not sure if it's accurate. But it goes from the "N" on "normal" and then goes lower then up then sometimes it's below "N" and some times it's "N-O" range... bad sensor or do you think possible low oil pressure?
Also, when i cold start it seem to have a horrible knock, if I put a load on it the knock goes away, when i let off u can hear it. When it warms up it doesn't do it. Piston slap?
Thanks for the help. I'm debating if I want to build this truck or sell it to find a better shape starting point!! (Southern truck)!!

More likely an loose pinon nut on the rear end.

The oil pressure sender is an off and on switch. So if you have any gauge reading at all it is not the oil pressure. Maybe a ground or voltage problem at the cluster.

No it would not be Piston slap. Piston slap you will hear when the engine is cold under load. Maybe main bearings or rods.

That depends on the body and not the Powertrain. The Powertrain is an easy fix, the body is the hard fix.
