Looking @ 95 powerstroke purchase. Questions?
I'm trying to find a replacement for my gas guzzling 1993 F250 heavy duty ext cab 4x4 long box with 351, 5spd work truck( landscaping, stone work, etc). I'm only getting 12mpg.
So I'm. Trying to find a diesel. I found a 1995 F350 4x4 regular cab with a 5spd. Wanted another extendecab but rather a 5spd most importantly. It has no rust, 350,000KM, new tires for $5000 Canadian. And I lime the strIght axle in the F350's.
Just wondering what isues the 1995 power strokes have?
Any hints on what to look for?
And also what type of gas milage could I expect from a f350 4x4, with the 5spd; powerstroke??
Thanks
mat

F350 (front axle) and a 5 speed is the best choice for durability.
It's going to have the same or more issues that a 15 year old truck has w/over 200K miles on it...especially if it's been worked hard. Be sure to check the steering/suspension. The parts are costly.
$4800 is the high end of the going rate around here. $3000 is the low.
Average MPG is 15 to 20 depending how you drive....it will take a few years to realize any benefits due to the higher fuel & maintenance costs.
The HP is lower than a newer 1996-1997. It can be modified for higher HP.....but more $$.
