WhAt kind of body is it? I think a cc lb or sb would denote a difrent tail shaft in the tranny, and someone correct mebifbim wrong but I think the tailshft is the last thing to com out of the tranny as in the interns combout aka eff that, itjink there was a thread not to long ago about this, th end result IIRC was to just buy the correct tranny vs spend the 20 rebuild and replace prep time
you can do it. just take your time finding the tranny. i didn't think that they changed the tailhousing between LB, SB, CC, & RC. I could be wrong though. haha.
oh alright i was under the impression that you had a 2wd auto and looking to put that auto into a 4wd swap, but regardless, i thought there was an issue with longer and shorter tailshafts, there was a guy on here that was looking to put a tranny from a ambulance or a bus or something and wanting to swap that tranny into his pick up and he got horribly shut down saying he had to do somehting and swap the tailshafts but you had to remove ALL internals in order to get to the tailshaft.
but BigFord, if you find a donor truck you need everything, pedals, clutch, cylinders, and the fun stuff obv. its deffinetly been done! id love to do the swap one day, we shall see!
thanks for all help! i think i have found a doner truck so hopefully i can start getting some parts together in the near future! i will definatly let you know how it goes rideracelivemx7! thanks for the help guys.
I'm hanging a NP205 divorced transfer case from a '78 F250 under mine. The only change I'm making is swapping out larger yokes so it's all 1350 size U-joints in and out.
I'm going to end up with about a 11" transmission to transfer case drive line. Due to the long tail shaft on the transmission I'm going to end up with a very long front drive line.
