the truck code tells me my truck is corinthian white and turquois
my question is what color white is the speedo dash insert?
and does it come in a rattle can somewhere
it appears to be darker than the rest of the dash even though it
does not look it in this piucture
Not sure if there's a specific paint code for the instrument panel. The dash on my 65 is a different color than the instrument panel so I picked up an aerosol can of paint I felt was close enough to original. In your case, it appears the the bottom part of the dash is corinthian so you may want paint the instrument panel same color, if so, a quality auto paint supplier should be able to cross reference the original paint code and order a can for you. If you don't have a compressor and or air gun, Eastwood use to have a cartridge and cannister for that purpose. If you don't intend to do much auto painting HF usually carries an cheap paint gun that would work for that purpose. Otherwise, paint to desired flavor.
The Corinthian White would be fine, but I'm thinking that the white used on the interiors was a different white for some of the years. Depends on how "correct" you want it to be. You may want to do a search of this and other Ford truck sites.
thanks for the help guys.. not trying to be correct
I have spent the time to strip/ sand and repaint three of these, and just want to touch this one up so I guess I'm getting lazy.
plus I dont know it just looks better than plain old white...I'm thinking the folks that first made these old trucks put a lot of time and style into their work and I'd like to honor that
was hoping someone could steer me towards something I had not thought of that would match... (like look at the bottom shelf at home depot stupid)
I've had a paint store color match a paint for me and they offered it in rattle can. Most places dont need much to match, about the size of a quarter. I would just bring the dash insert in with you and have it matched.
