well its been about a week since i drove my ford and i truely miss it. We are harvesting at home plus in kansas and my ford is the only truck that can handle the gooseneck so i got stuck driving my brothers 09 duramax. They keep my truck at home and i am in kansas. I know a lot of people are like man you get to drive the new truck and i said i would rather drive my 06 with 140000 miles any day. The duramax just feels like a cheap built truck. We hooked it up to a 18 ft bumper pull trailer and the thing looked like a dog with worms with its a$$ on the ground. So i have driven and owned every manufactors diesel and i will definitly stick with a ford from now on. Just a better built truck by far.
Last night, I asked my buddy if we couldn't use his Cummins to pull my 30' enclosed trailer out to the desert for some riding since I had just detailed my truck and I wanted it to remain clean for longer than a day. Well, he realized that he had his work tools in his truck, so we ended up just taking mine. He couldn't stop complimenting my truck about how much room it had and how nice all the controls and everything inside the cab was. He has an 04 Cummins and says the only thing good about his truck is the motor. Even if I did get my truck dirty (again), it was worth it to hear someone else (other than myself) rant and rave about how nice these Ford trucks are.
The room in the ford trucks are the best around. A mega cab just gives you more room in the back seat not so much in the front. The gmc i an driving has the worst head room getting in the truck of any. I an not a tall person but i wear a cowboy hat and it hits the door frame everytime. With my ford i can get into it with no problem. I hope my brother will enjoy driving my truck so he will trade this one off for another ford. He just had bad luck with his 04. I will say that i think his problem with it was he babyed it too much. I got a guy working for me who used to be a paint and body repair guy and he told me of all the vehicles he has worked on the ford products were the best built of all. He said the frames on them are built of much thicker steel than the others and the supports are much stronger. So it just goes to show another reason fords are the best around.
