On a 1975 F-150 with a 390 which motor mount is larger the driver's side or the passenger's side? They are not the same size. One is significantly larger.
I do believe the drivers side is the larger mount. When I put some britches on I'll go check and if I'm wrong I'll repost with correct info. The cut out on the cab for the tranny should be slightly offset as well. I believe it is a little toward the passenger side.
While replacing the motor mounts on my engine I removed the mounting brackets. When I put everything back in my engine sets crooked in that if you are looking at the front of the truck it's slightly favoring the passenger side. It's not twisted, rather it's setting slightly off center.
It appears that someone at some point hit something rather large and bent the twin i-beam system. I am curious as to weather this is causing my engine to be slightly off center or could I have put the motor mounts brackets on incorrectly. Also, I guess if this is the case a frame straightener is the only solution.
The Driver side motor mount bracket is significantly larger on my truck. I have a 74 F250, but I'm sure it's the same as yours. I believe the motor mounts themselves are the same size just slightly different shapes.
