I have recently scored an almost free banks turbo for my 1986 6.9 and am looking for a larger exhaust...at least 3". Does anyone know if the exhaust pipe and muffler from a 1994-97 powerstroke has the same bends and length as the stock 2 1/2" pipe. I could do some minor modifications if necessary. The junk yard up the road says they have one, but I don't want to pull it without a fair idea it will fit.

Yes , the later model OBS exhaust will work on the older model. I have a 88' F350 and I installed a 3in down pipe with a 4in exhaust. With the 3in down pipe, you will have to rework the fire wall where it passes some.
