F250 Axle
Does anyone know if the left front axle housing from a dana 44 HD IFS is the same as a Dana 50? I have a 94 F250 with the Dana 50 that is cracked and I have access to an 87 F250 with the Dana 44 HD and was wondering if they were the same housings. The housings no longer available from Ford and aftermarket are only for 1/2 tons.

The Dana 50 has a larger ring gear than the Dana 44, so I would assume that the left front housing where the gears are would be larger. However, I don't know for sure. Can you get some measurements and compare?
