There is a nocking noise everytime I turn the wheel all the way to the left, it only does it if I turn it all the way. There is also a squeeking noise if I turn the wheel in either direction. Does anyone have any clue what can be done to prevent both noises?

Paul, As far as the knocking noise.....check your swaybar links in the front. If one is broken, when you turn the wheel, the bar will come in contact with either the broken remains or the A arm. As far as the squeeking....... Check your tie rod ends. When thety go bad thats what they sound like. They can make a real racket. there are no grease fittings on them so when they wear out you have to replace them.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-Sep-02 AT 08:07 AM (EST)]Paul, the pittman arm bushings are notorious for making the noise when you turn the steering in either direction. The factory bushings are non-greasable, as 4X4 said. They do make aftermarket bushings that are; and I have heard of injecting grease into the stock bushings if they are in good shape.

I'd say take your truck somewhere and have the front end checked (mainly the tierods/pitman arm bushings/idler arm) for anything that's broken or damaged. Also, you might want to think about getting an aftermarket suspension bushing kit (Energy Suspension kits are supposed to be pretty good) and replace all the bushings.
