bolt ons?

Anyone actually dynoed any add ons like cold air kits, cat backs, programmers, bigger throttle bodies? I'm intrested to see how much can be squeezed outta my soon to be delievered 2010 5.4... Without forced induction. I'd like to be able to gain around 30 hp. Is this a possibility with just simple bolt ons? Which brands offer the most improvements?
I saw the Air raid cold air kit claims one more HP than the K&N, but it uses the stock intake tube. Seems like the aftermarket tube would provide less restriction than the stock "crinkle" flex tube used.
Also, most the websites I've been on don't have anything for 2010's yet. I'd imagine they will be the same as the 09's, but not gonna order anything till I'm sure (And I've actually taken delivery of the truck). Why would all these aftermarket companies have parts for 2010 chevys and chryslers, but not the F-150... the highest selling truck in the world?

First off your under warranty so a programmer or Tbody is out. I personally I am putting a K&N in my truck and waiting for the CAI until it is out of warranty. The CAI may not be a problem but the K&N defiantly wont be and will give you most of the gains in HP and fuel economy. I have seen as much as 5-10 HP and 2MPG out of a K&N. But again I havnt done it to my truck yet...

I dont know what a less restrictive cat back does to our trucks. Years ago I put one on my 2001 5.4 and gained 16HP according to a G-tech.

Programmer is the best bang for the buck on these new trucks, but I'm not sure if much is available for the 09 and newer trucks yet. CAI doesn't do much nor does cat back exhaust by itself.

You maybe surprised. Remember any engine is an air pump and basically more air in/out = HP and even fuel economy. I went to a K&N on my 2001 and I want to say I got 7HP according to a g-tech. Granted that included a silencer removal. A year after that I went with a CAI with cone filter and gained another 3hp on-top of that! I have even been told just removing that silencer will give you 2, although I have never done a test myself to validate.....

I've been looking at the Banks power packs, but don't see anything for 09,'10's yet... they do have the 08's on there though, and I'd imagine the gains and prices should be similar. Anyone used the banks system? I like the ram air intake and exhaust systems, but the website doesn't explain much about the programmer... does it have an 87 octane rating? If so, anyone know the gains? The total power pack on an '08 are something like 47 hp and 50+ ft-lbs... pretty substancial on a gas motor with simple add ons/ no forced induction.
Also, the website doesn't list prices. anyone have prices on individual components and whole power packs? How much can you do to these new vehicle without voiding any factory warranty? If I weren't so concearned, I'd probably just put a vortech on there...

I would
1) decide which engine and/or exhaust mods I want to install
2) wait for the Gryphon programmer (Power Hungry Performance - Feed your hunger for POWER! Check out our Gryphon Programmer for Ford vehicles! not yet available for 2009-10) and have (a) custom tune(s) written the truck (with those mods).

You are not going to see any significant hp or tq gains without a custom tune.

Check out these forums. There's a lot of good information.

Power Hungry Performance Forums - Powered by vBulletin

Based on what I have read in numerous forums a CAI (alone) will not improve MPG, hp, or tq with the 2009-10. No one has offered any dyno or other real world data supporting any improvement claims after installing them.

Same is true for exhaust systems.

IMHO CAIs and exhaust systems are a waste of money, with the exception of wanting a louder engine and exhaust. TBSs are definitely a waste of money unless you're going to add forced air induction.

As far as warranty, Google "Magnuson Moss Act". Opinions vary on Ford (or the dealer's) right to void the warranty. Obviously if your windshield falls out they'd have a hard time refusing to replace it because you installed a CAI. If you're really concerned, you may want to discuss your mods with the dealer before you spend the money. Amsoil's website has an explanation in the technical section (not promoting Amsoil - they just have a good explanation).

leveling kits

Ok, so I've pretty much decided to go with a Banks power pack, when it becomes available. Now, I want to level my truck...after I actually pick it up that is...
I'm thinking about like 2 - 2.5 inch leveling kit in front. Anyone have info on any of these kits as far as quality, wearing out other components (like ball joints) and if they void any warranty?
I don't think I'm going to go much bigger on the tires. I did that on my 2000 and the mileage really got crappy. The FX4 comes with 275's already, which should be plenty big I think... anyone have picks of a leveled truck with 275's? I've seen a bunch with like 315's. they look great, but I'm sure the mileage and power are suffering. I may go up to 285's in the future, but for the time, I hate replacing brand new, perfectly good tires.
