Hi i posted earlier and some of the local people i know suggested i should scout for another bed for my truck im curious which years would be compatible for my 1986 f150 step side wood bed
1980-1987 Flareside bed is your best option. Replace the wood during the swap etc...
The 1987 fenders have different bodylines around the arch than the 1980-1986.
1992-1996 Flareside beds are dual steel walled constuction. No wood. They will look very different to what you have now. The fenders have a different bodyline at the bottom as well around the arch.
They are a little different but to an untrained eye you WILL NOT notice the difference. The fitment will not be a problem it is just a slight slight difference in body lines that very few people notice unless they know excately what to look for.
1987, the fender flares are different around the wheel opening, but the 1980-1986 fenders will fit on the bed without modification. The beds are identicle 1980-1987, but the fenders are different between the 1980-1986 and the 1987.
1992-1996 beds are drasticly different in looks, they will fit without modification, but will not look good on a show truck IMO.
OOOOO ok so if i keep the fender peices i can replace the sedsides and still be in perfect my fenders r great its just the bed sides that attach to the fenders that need work
You will NOT find new bed sides for a flairside. You can find almost any other piece though. Mark-K is a pretty good source for some stainless hardware and nice wood. LMC has some stuff but not alot. AND If you want a BRAND NEW IN THE BOX FORD flairside tailgate, I have one
Ive looked i realized i cant find em new but i still have my question all the bed r completely compatable correct, after i replace them with my current fender flaRES
