Starting under the hood.

Does anyone know how to bypass the soleniod under the hood to start a vehicle. I am having ignition issues and I need to get my truck started to move it. The guys at the tranny shop did this for me but I did not catch how they did it. Thanks for the help guys. I really need to get this thing moving.

Just take a screw driver and jump from the battery terminal to the "S" terminal, have your key in the "run" position and of course make sure tranny's not in gear.

I've had to start many junkyard vehicles with no keys, so if you are having trouble with the wiring harness and want to avoid using it, you can do what I do. Disconnect the wire from the positive terminal of the coil, then run a jumper wire from that terminal to the positive side of the battery using alligator clips. Crank the starter like montana_highboy said, and VROOMMM!

To shut it off, simply knock the jumper wire off of the battery.
