Back from the dark side

Three years ago I was a regular member of this forum and owned a 1999 Ranger 4.0 ext cab. In 2007 I sold the Ranger and bought a Dodge Dakota and stopped visiting with you fine people. Well I am back! I still have the Dakota but I now also have a 2002 Ranger XLT 2.3L 5 speed regular cab as my daily driver. I am glad to be back!!

Back in the day I did several mods to my Ranger (leather power seats, center console, overhead console) and I got lots of help from all you fine folks and I think I gave some assistance also (I posted details about my installs.) I can't for the life of me remember my log-in name back (old age is rough!)then so I created a new account. I remember many of the names on here however.

Anyway, I am back and glad to be here!!

I found my old profile. I went by Johare back then! Maybe some of you might remember me!

I didnt think I needed to say anything, but the board requires I write at least 10 characters!

Several things promptyed my return:
1) I use my Dakota to haul my boat and I have a Leer Cap on it. Thus it is a PITA to remove the cap to haul anything large, plus I have the Dakota set up for camping in as I frequently go on extended fishing trips and sleep in my truck. I have lots of built in cabinets and removal to haul building supplies and garden supplies is a pain.
2) I was driving a Chrysler Sebring convertible as my daily driver and I got tired of the noise from the soft top and limited haul space,
3) The 2.3L Ranger gets about the same gas mileage as the Sebring and about 6 MPG better than the Dakota on the highway.
4) I missed my Ranger - I have always like these little trucks.
5) The Ranger will haul my canoe for canoe trips where the Sebring wouldn't and the Ranger will get better gas mileage than the Dakota so longer canoe trips will save me on gas.
6) I missed this forum!

I still like my Dakota but the Ranger is a great little truck.

I found my old log-in

Well, I found that my old log-in and password still works. I had created a new profile as I could not remember my old log-in and password but then I found it in my desk. So Johare and Outdoorsman5953 are one and the same person. Is there any way to combine these or should I just delete one?

MFP4073;

Any tips or things I should watch out for on the 2002 Ranger with the 2.3L engine? Any issues or special maintenance tips that may have been different fron my 99 4.0L Ranger/ Thanks.

I really am not one to ask...my truck has been falling apart lately!

I am really good at suggesting to replace the rear axle speed sensor when the speedo and shifting start acting weird! Somewhere around here is a writeup I did and one for replacing the power window motor.

Welcome back. You Might want to get a Mod to combine your accounts. Not sure about FTE, but most other forums ban multiple accounts.
